Sweet Pepper Spotlight

Sweet peppers are native to Central America and began to spread to the rest of the world by Spanish and Portuguese explorers in the 16th and 17th century.

So how can sweet peppers help you?

  • 1 cup of chopped peppers is 45 calories and gives you over 100% of your daily Vitamin A and C needs.
  • Encourages Eye Health with vitamin A and a carotenoid called lutein. This helps with overall eye health, night vision, and macular degeneration. Their high amounts of Vitamin C and beta-carotene also help prevent cataracts.
  • Encourages Skin Health with vitamins A, C, and E. Vitamin C helps keep your skin firm with collagen.
  • Encourages Immune Health with Vitamin C and K. Vitamin C helps maintain a healthy immune system and building strong collagen for help your skin and joints while vitamin K helps develop strong bones and protect your cells from oxidative damage.
